When does it apply?

This code applies if a public body wants to specifically appoint a person, or persons, with a disability, as defined in the Disability Act 2005.

What does it mean?

Carrying out a selection process under this code allows you to confine the candidate pool to persons with a disability, as defined in the Act. The code also has provisions for accessibility and the treatment of applicants during the appointment process.

Review and appeal mechanisms must be in place for anyone who is unhappy with the appointment.
